CURIOUS ABOUT BIBLE QUIZZING?
This fall, we are launching a Bible quizzing program for kids in 3rd-6th grade (age/grade is flexible, please ask if you're interested). Come to the Living Water Room after the Sunday service on August 28th for more information and a demonstration of quizzing with Bible trivia! You can also email Alex Mellen or Anna Bailey here for more information.

At our distribution party, our friendly volunteers gave away over 300 snow cones. Please join us in thanking God and praying that our neighbors would taste and see that the Lord is good through events like this!

INTERNATIONAL WORKER FOCUS

Let's lift up Mark and Sue Davis soon serving with CAMA / Alliance Missions in Mexico

Mark and Sue are from Wellspring and have served for many years as leaders at the Bolingbrook Christian Health Center, a local medical ministry caring for those without health insurance. This September, they will be stepping into a new role as CAMA workers to Guadalajara, Mexico. The area around Guadalajara has been referred to as the Circle of Silence, as less than 2% of the population in this central Mexican region are Christ-followers. They will be working alongside local C&MA church plants and pointing people to Jesus in addressing local needs through community development. They have been recently appointed by the C&MA and are fundraising before they can head to Mexico.

Please praise God and pray for the following with Mark and Sue. They write:

Praises
  • Praising God for the wonderful experience of seeing our support needs provided for by Wellspring and individual partners who have come alongside us.
  • Praising God for blessed good-byes with family and friends in our final weeks in Illinois.
  • Praise for special friends who have taken an interest in maintaining family type relationships with each of our daughters in our absence while we transition overseas.
  • Praise for a sweet time of orientation and relationship building at the Alliance Pre Field Orientation week at the National Office in Columbus, Ohio.
  • Praising God for providing caregiving and guardian roles within our extended family.

Prayer Requests
  • The easy and quick sale of our home so that we can move to Guadalajara as early as possible in September.
  • Effective language learning as we transition into doing life in Spanish.
  • For each of our three daughters, Hannah, her husband Drew, Sarah and Esther as we all learn how to thrive relationally abroad.
  • Our attendance at CAMA World Retreat in October where we will have the opportunity to learn from those who have been on the field already and to build relationships.
THIS SUNDAY @ WHEATON
Forming a People Through Christ
Isaiah 43: 16-21
Pastor Kathy Woods

This Sunday is the start of a new series that will revolve around our church’s mission statement.  I am excited to start us off as we explore how God forms us as a people.  To be His people, we need to do our part individually as well as work together collectively, so that we can glorify Christ everywhere we go.  We will look at Isaiah 43 which will then lead us to a parable of Jesus’ where, I pray, we will sense God springing something forth.  God is doing a new thing, do you perceive it? I wonder how God will speak to you?
