Sunday Adult Formation: Prophets, Spokepeople for God
9:30 - 10:15, Zoom & in the Library

This summer's Sunday Adult Formation sessions focus on certain Prophets who are highlighted in the First Lessons during the Pentecost season. Prophets were primarily 'proclaimers,' not 'predictors'. They were Spokespeople for God, recalling people to live as God's Partners, in justice, mercy and steadfast love. This week Maddie Redden leads our first session dealing with the prophet Jeremiah, a prophet during the period in which only the Southern Kingdom, Judah, still existed. He was a prophet when Judah, too, was destroyed, including its capital city (Jerusalem), the Temple, and its dynasty of kings descended from King David. We know more about Jeremiah's personal life than nearly any other figure in the Old Testament, including that he was a teenager when he became a prophet. Young adults and youth are invited to this session. If you need the St. Thomas LinkTree, which has the Zoom link used each Sunday to access the sessions, contact denny@stthomascolumbus.org.

August 28: Jeremiah - Charlene Rallo

Parish Hall Service
10:30 in the Parish Hall
Want to try something a little different? Join us for worship in the parish hall via the live stream. Beginning in August, during the live stream of the service, you can choose a quiet table (no talking, time for prayer and quiet), an art table (art supplies available for creating a visual response to worship), or a convo table (where it is okay to talk and ask questions). Coffee and snacks will be available. You are invited to come to the nave to receive communion.
On Wednesday evening, the St. Thomas Choir shared about their pilgrimage in Ireland this summer, while we made an Alma Thomas art project. Our prayers this week are weekday prayers from the Book of Common Prayer of the Church of Ireland.
