An Invitation to Receive a Weekly Prayer
Wednesdays on Zoom one of us reads aloud a new prayer like this one (from the morning of Aug 3) and everyone is invited to share the words or images that stirred their spirit, made them go "hmm", or struck a chord. Sometimes the prayers reflect the theme from Sunday's scripture. Sometimes they don't. But the prayers always offer a new way to understand who God is, what God does, and how to practice a Christian faith day to day.
Would you like to receive in your inbox every Monday a new morning and evening prayer to start and end your day? Sign-up here. The same prayers will be used on Wednesday Zoom prayer. Monday prayer emails will begin August 29nd.
Peace - Pastor Liz

Come Sing in the Choir!
Fall is coming and choir will be starting up again. We would love to have some new voices join us. It's a great way to share in ministry and use your gifts to enhance worship for the congregation. We meet on Wednesday evenings for 60-75 minutes and will start August 31. We will be singing an anthem twice a month and a prelude song once a month. It's an enriching time and I hope some new voices will consider joining us this year. Please contact me if you have any questions. Jon jonkusa@netscape.net or 224-325-9575.
Also! We will be doing an occasional, "all church choir" where anyone who wants to try it out can sing one song with everyone else. Just 2-3 short rehearsals immediately after church. Watch for more announcements and information coming soon.

Coffee Fellowship:
Help Serve Up Hospitality
Coffee fellowship is an important part of St. Paul's. We invite our visitors to join us for coffee and fellowship so we can get to know them better. We also enjoy catching up with each other.
We do ask for volunteers to share their talents in providing treats, setting up and cleanup. If we have a Sunday where no one signs up we will use the funds from the free will offering we collect each week to provide the treats. Coffee and juice will always be provided by the Hospitality Ministry.
Won't you consider sponsoring a coffee hour some Sunday? Maybe we could help you celebrate an anniversary or birthday, the choice is up to you. The sign up sheet is posted on the bulletin board just outside the kitchen. See me if you have questions.
