Friday 12th August
Come and enjoy our latest free   'pop-up' musical event

Dear Tithe Barn Trust supporter,

Friday 12th August will see two promising young musicians give an impromptu recital in the atmospheric Tithe Barn in Landbeach

The event is free and there’s no need to book; just turn up. It's first come first served for seating.

Dom Howard is a guitarist and composer from Cottenham and based in London who draws influences from jazz and improvised music, chamber music and progressive rock into his compositions. Dom is studying at the Royal Academy of Music in Marylebone and his set will comprise solo electric guitar, both written pieces of his own and others as well as improvisation using live guitar fx. He has released a debut EP of his own entitled ‘Cascade’ on Bandcamp and was the guitarist and writer for prog metal band 'Influx of Insanity' for its duration.

Dom will be joined by Olivia Hughes, a trombonist based in Colchester and currently in her second year at Trinity Laban, where she studies Jazz. Having picked up trombone at the age of 14, she went on to attend Aldeburgh Young Musicians from 2018-2021. Olivia's influences range from hard bop pioneers Sonny Rollins and Charles Mingus to members of the early avant-garde such as Carla Bley and Ornette Coleman.

Doors open at 6.30 and there will be two sets with a short break between them at around 7.15 when interval drinks will be available. Donations to support the musicians and the barn would be welcome.

This event will be a perfect way to spend a Summer's evening in the Tithe Barn so we look forward to seeing you there.
