The IAR congratulates our community on the blessed occasion of the month of Muharram and the new Hijri year 1444.
The first Hijri year marks the most significant events in the Islamic history, i.e., the Hijra (Divinely ordained migration) of our beloved Prophet Muhammad, from Makkah to Madinah to establish the first Muslim community.
The Prophet (saw) would fast more in this month than any other month except Ramadan. It is the Sunnah of our Prophet (saw) to fast the day of ‘Aashuraa’, falling on next Monday, August 8th, along with the day before or the day after. The Prophet (saw) says in a hadith on the reward for this fast, “It wipes away the sins of the previous year” - we ask that Allah accept from us all.
