The August overheated days continues in New York. It gives me time to stay quiet and do alot of outreach for projects and work on exhibitions until 2024. This is the last week we will remain open at the physical- on August 14 until September 7 - we will close for the August Break to rest, dream and take tme to head to the beach.
What does that mean? You can still buy online and all work will be shipped. Some work will happen very slowly over the 3 weeks we are officially out. Our newsletter will go out only on Saturday until September - So find work for sale on our website, on Artsy and in our gallery. In September, I will begin a discussion for a Fiber, Quilt and Fabric Museum Exhibition in September. Good news on that front - and excited to see what is next. I also spend the time exploring Congolese Americans and was able to reach out to several on buying work from our exhibition. This week, I continued a series of discussions on art residency programs will commerce for 2023 and 2034. I began to coin the phrase the Underground Railroad of Art Residencies - following Amtrak from Vermont to Rocky Mount, North Carolina - an ode to exploring reverse migration, social justice and afro futurism.
We continue to raise funds this week for the residency programs and I would love it if you can purchase a piece from us this weekend. The Congolese work on Artsy is getting the attention of collectors who have bought from us - one asked if I would bring back the auctions again - Hmm, interesting thought - it's a lot of work and I am in the midst of pivoting it - more soon as I finalize the idea I have.

On November 12,we join Harlem Brewing Company as Art Gallery Partner with for the Harlem Brew Fest, the first festival in the world to connect all brewers, artists, chefs and DJs in celebration of Black Brewing culture and featured: Sankofa Beer, Black Frog Brewery, Island to Island Beer, 1947 Beer, Harlem Brewing and Rams & Parrot Distillery. What does it mean to be a woman in this current climate? Gender inequality coupled with the climate crisis poses threats to ways of life, livelihoods, health, safety, security, and rights for women and girls around the world. Women in the rural areas in the global South are especially vulnerable. Gender perspective and knowledge are key to driving short and long-term solutions. Women must have a say in the setting of overall adaptations, priorities, and strategies used to combat climate change.

This fall, we will slow down our art fair activity and instead begin to move towards museum shows for our resident artists and the artists we work with. In Photography, Quilts/Fiber work plus Painting - we will activate and do more outreach. So, we invite curators to reach out to us about artists we work with and suggest and place them in your exhibition projects - it's about a local, regional and global exposure of our rooster of artists.
We have been asked to collaborate - we have been asked to send a list of artists for exhibitions and suggests artists. We are collaborative - and do understand - we take our time to do the work because we love the art ecosystem - and sometimes - we have a lot going on but we don't neglect the requests - so be patient with us.
