This Weeks Prayer Points
Taiwan/China/U.S: Pray about the outcome of Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan this week, that China will not react to increase tensions and fears of an invasion of the island. President Xi is wanting to consolidate his position as leader in China. Pray for all Christians in Taiwan and also in Hong Kong and those in China who suffer persecution.
Iraq: There have been demonstrations particularly in the Green zone recently. This is where St. George's is situated. Pray for protection over the church and its people and the medical clinic. Remember Faez, the vicar, and pray for stability in Iraq and that it will not erupt into civil war. One of the factions is pro-Iran.
Iran: pray for all Christians suffering persecution and pray regarding the nuclear programme which the country is pursuing.
Myanmar: Continue to pray for all who are suffering under the military rulers, including Karen who are being bombed.
East Africa: Continue prayer for all countries affected by food and fuel shortages.
Ukraine: Give thanks for the first shipment of grain that has left. Pray that the agreement that led to its release will be sustained, and for the safety of all ships carrying grain to a hungry world. Pray for farmers producing the grain in fields that have been mined, or where bombing has led to crops being set on fire. Pray also for those who have been forced to sell grain at greatly reduced prices to the Russians in occupied territory. There is some evidence that the Russians have been stealing grain and sunflower seeds and transporting them to Russia itself. Pray for Christians and others who continue to suffer due to the war. Continue to pray for it to stop.
India: Continue to pray for Janaki and her team and her proposed visit to the U.K. in September. We hope she will be with us on 25th.
U.S.A: Pray for the fires in California to be brought under control, and for those who have lost loved ones or homes in the floods in Kentucky.
Belgium: Continue prayer for the Prices and pray for the impact that their new C.D. will have. Pray that they may get some rest after a busy time.
Jo and Paula: Continue to pray for their health and for direction about their future. They need a more permanent base in the U.K. if they are to stay here for longer. Continue prayer for their Russian family and friends from Ukraine.
S.Africa: The Nobbs family hope to visit the U.K. in December and would like to reconnect with us then. Pray for the Lord's plans to be fulfilled and continue to give thanks for His provision for the current Bible school.
International Y.F.C: Continue prayer for Martin and Sam and their family, giving thanks for time to reconnect recently. Continue prayer for Sam's health.
B.Y.F.C: Pray for fresh energy for Neil who has several speaking engagements over the month. Pray he is able to have a week off in August. Pray for Molly and Lucy working at Limitless, the Elim equivalent of New Wine.
Pray for the recruitment of more young people for the next gap year.
U.K: Give thanks for the teams sharing the gospel on the streets in Birmingham during the Commonwealth Games. Many are being touched, some are coming to faith and there have been healings. Pray for all who may be growing tired on the teams, and for on-going safety for all, for the police etc. Pray too for the Lambeth Conference this week and especially for Justin Welby as he leads this.
Pray for the Lord's will to be done in the leadership contest for the next prime minister. Lift up to the Lord all who are anxious about their future.
Pray for Christian conferences that are being held, such as Keswick, New Wine etc. that people will be strengthened with the hope of the gospel.
Local: Continue prayers for Phil and family, and for Sally and her family and others who serve in our church, and for our joint services this month.
Pray for those who are not well and for all who work in our NHS, locally and nationally.
