Prayer Needed for Our Move

Each move we have made in the last 14 years has not been without challenges. So, we were a little surprised when everything was moving so smoothly with the sale of our house in Indianapolis and move to Minnesota. As we were getting ready to load our moving truck, though, the challenges started to show up again.

Fifteen minutes before our trailer was delivered, we were notified that the financing for the first buyer of our house in Indianapolis was in jeopardy. Since we couldn't change the moving order at that point, we proceeded to load our trailer and make plans to stay with family while our agents worked on solutions. Eventually, we were informed that there were no options for the buyer to qualify for a mortgage. So, our agent in Indianapolis worked diligently to find a backup offer and was able to find one in two days. We are currently in negotiations with a new buyer on repairs they are requesting based on their inspection report, some of which are not reasonable for the price point they are buying the house at. So we are hoping that they will respond positively to a reasonable counteroffer or we will need to relist the house again.

At this point, the people selling us the house in Minnesota have agreed to extend our closing date to August 26. Any more delays, though, may put our house purchase in jeopardy as well. We are storing our household items at a family member's house and staying with family in Minnesota while we navigate the challenges associated with this move. As we pray about the situation, we are still convinced that this move is in God's will and trust that He will provide another place if we lose the house we are currently planning to buy. We also have a sense that, no matter what happens, we are supposed to narrow our housing search to the St. Cloud / Sauk Rapids area. So, we will continue to pursue a move to that area.

Please stand with us in prayer as we deal with these challenges. Pray that we will all have a sense of peace as we work through this process. Pray also that we are able to reach a reasonable compromise with the family buying our house in Indianapolis or that we will find a new buyer with a reasonable offer quickly. Pray that we will have wisdom in making decisions about school for Natalia and a job for Elaina with so many uncertainties still facing us.
