August and September are busy months for growers and gardens across Edinburgh are alive with vegetables, fruit and edible flowers.Here is a quick round up of some events over the next two months: 

Saturday 13th August, 1300 - 1600
West Mains Allotment Open Day, West Mains, Blackford Avenue and Watertoun Road
Fresh produce, jam, tea and cakes 

Sunday 14th August, 1400 -1600
Demonstration Allotment Open Day at Bridgend Allotments, Dalkeith Road.
Refreshments, cake and produce, all welcome. 
Includes a workshop on summer pruning by George Anderson, Beechgrove Presenter. Numbers for the workshop are limited, booking advised; email: rchsallotment@gmail.com 

Sunday 4th September, 11.00 - 16.00

Growing Local - this year's Edinburgh Allotment Show on Sunday 4th September at Saughton Park in collaboration with the The Caley's Autumn Show and Edible Edinburgh


Sunday 4th September, 10.00 - 16.00
Caley Plant Show at Saughton, a show celebrating the many different plants in flower at this time of year. 

Saturday 10th September, 1400 - 1700
Harvest Festival at Lauriston Farm with a puppet parade, banners, flags and live music. More information on the Lauriston social media accounts. 

Sunday 11th September, 1200 - 16.00
Harvest Festival with the Edible Garden Project in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh
