Forgiveness
Matthew 18:21-35

We pray in the Lord's Prayer, "Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us." The "as" is critical and requires that we understand forgiveness and practice it. We look to Jesus' teachings for insight and find his parable in Matthew 18:21-35 which makes clear the reciprocal nature of forgiveness: that giving and receiving are integrally connected. In our worship on August 14, Pastor Debbie will lead us on an exploration of this parable and a deeper dive into forgiveness.

Worship online with Living Stream Church of the Brethren on Sunday at 5:00 pm Pacific time; 6:00 pm Mountain time; 7:00 pm Central time; and 8:00 pm Eastern time. Or you may access the recorded archives of our worship at www.LivingStreamCoB,org any time that suits your schedule.

Pacific Northwest District Conference - Sepember 16-17
Although the Living Stream Church of the Brethren has no building and no walls, we are considered to be part of the Pacific Northwest District of the Church of the Brethren.
Each of the districts holds a conference once a year and the Pacific Northwest District Conference will be the evening of Friday, September 16th and the morning and afternoon of Saturday, September 17th. (Pacific Time)
Our conference theme this year is "Bearing fruit," and our gathering is guided by the scripture Jeremiah 17:8: "They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
This will be a time of rejuvenation, exploration, song, and discernment. All throughout the district are invited to attend, and I hope you'll be able to join us!
Registration for this year's District Conference is now open! Attendance is free, and the leaders are requesting that folks register beforehand so that we can send Zoom links and conference packets to attendees ahead of time.
     You can register at:

Letter of Gratitude
July 28, 2022
Greetings Friends,

Thank you so very much for your kind donation of $100.00 to BMC. It is an honor to join you as BMC's Executive Director as of June 1!  I am humbled and energized by your support, especially in this time of transition for BMC.

Having moved among BMC circles for many years, I am no stranger to the vibrant, caring, justice-seeking community that BMC is and has been. I love our agitating spirit, our ability to create what we need to survive and thrive on the margins of ecclesial space, our embrace of celebration alongside resistance. What a vibrant lineage of leaders, lovers, movers and shakers.

Much of my work in these initial months is to tend well to our beloved organization through this time of change. This includes relocating the BMC office from Minneapolis to Chicago this summer. As well, I am working with our Board and BMC community to envision and embody the next season(s) of BMC. Foci will include a collective story gathering project and a plan to care for BMC's 47-year-old archives, proactively shaping our legacy as lgbtqia+ people within and adjacent to Brethren and Mennonite traditions. I look forward to sharing more soon about ways that you can be involved in these efforts.

In an era of profound, intersecting crises on a global scale, your generous presence and your support is fuel for the work ahead. Thank you for being here alongside me, BMC, and our lgbtqia+ kin in liberatory struggle, in fierce love, and in abundant joy.

Appreciatively,
Annabeth Roeschley, MDiv (they/she) Executive Director
Brethren Mennonite Council for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Interests

Pacific Northwest District continues online times for sharing prayers
The next district-wide prayer gathering will be on Friday, August 11th, at 7pm Pacific time; 8pm Mountain time; 9 pm Central time; 10 pm Eastern time.
These Zoom gatherings, organized by our new District Envisioning Team, are a time for us to share joys and concerns, pray together, and talk about the life of our shared ministry and district. The gatherings usually run about 30-45 minutes.
Given the positive response to these prayer gatherings, we'll be continuing them every first and third Thursday of each month, at 7pm Pacific time.
