What do trophy builders do in August?
Summer sports seasons end, typically, before or after August. And, while there certainly are plenty of car shows and golf tournaments and other competitive activities, the organizers of many of these events don't always award traditional trophies to the winners. So, our trophy-building skills get a little rusty at this time of the year. We actually like to see the creativity and variety that some of our customers approach us with when deciding upon awards for their August events.
Did you make it out to our annual Sidewalk Sale on August 5th and 6th? Plenty of people did. The weather cooperated to make the two days outside very nice. We especially love it when people who've never before visited our store just happen across our Sidewalk Sale and find fun items for themselves, their kids or their co-workers.
For the last few years, we've joined forces with several other businesses to participate in "Socktember." Look for our sock collection box at our store beginning September 1st. All socks donated will be distributed to area organizations that serve the homeless population. Bring your new socks to donate anytime during the month of September.
Since our last newsletter, several members of our team contracted COVID; we operated for several weeks in late July and early August with people out due to quarantine restrictions. We're happy to report that everyone has recovered and returned to work!
We also recently noted two work milestones - Nanci celebrated her 1st year anniversary with us and Jennifer celebrated her 3rd year anniversary. We're lucky to have both of them on our team.
We're still short-handed, however. Know anyone with fantastic customer service skills or engraving experience? Please send them our way or direct them to our website for more information!
Earlier this month, on a Sunday while searching for something to watch on TV when it was 90 degrees outside, I happened to see "Miracle on 34th Street" was on one of the movie channels! Really??? A Christmas movie in August? I love the holidays as much as anyone but I also love the seasons and given the late start to our summer this year I certainly don't want to rush into fall and winter just yet. Savvy planners, however, are smart to think about holiday gifts and giveaways at this time of year. Some vendors we use for things like custom ornaments, for example, require 2-3 months for production time on truly custom-designed items.
Have you seen and shared our virtual showroom tour? Wondering what we offer but can't make it to the showroom? This virtual tour allows you to visit from wherever you are. Please share it with others who may want to visit us.
