SUPRA supports Usyd staff strike – Wednesday 17 August 2022

SUPRA supports University of Sydney staff in their fight for fair wages and working conditions. SUPRA will once again demonstrate our support for Usyd staff by stopping work during the strike on Wednesday 17 August and joining the pickets.

Staff working conditions are student learning conditions. If you are frustrated with the lack of feedback from your lecturers and tutors, with the lack of course options and availability, then you should support the staff strike. Read our full statement. See you on the picket!

SUPRA Fitness Program

Our new fitness program is up and running (pun intended!).

To register for a class, please join the Usyd SUPRA Fitness Group on Facebook. Links to the fitness classes will be posted to this group every Thursday at 12pm (midday). Spaces are limited, and you must be a SUPRA member to attend a class.

There are classes in Virtual Cycling, HIIT Boxing, Indoor Rock Climbing and Body Jam. There's also a special Self Defense Course for all women members. Check out our Events Calendar for dates and details.

Contact SUPRA's Women's Officer, Vivian, if you have questions about any of our fitness classes: women@supra.usyd.edu.au.

Last day to add or enrol in a unit of study

Friday 12 August (this Friday!) is the last day to add or enrol in a unit of study for Semester 2, so make sure you select the units you need.

Wednesday 31 August is the census date, which is the last day you can drop a unit of study without incurring a financial or academic penalty.

If you need help with enrolment or any other academic issues, our professional caseworkers are here for you.

Fun Fact

The knowledge that consuming food that contain vitamin C is a cure for scurvy was repeatedly forgotten and rediscovered into the early 20th century. Many cultures independently learned that certain foods have antiscorbutic properties, but no one properly understood why until the discovery of vitamin C in 1928.
