Creative Industry Spotlight

After spending many years as a performing professional in NYC, Harrison School for the Arts and Florida State alum, Elizabeth Lyons, decided it was time to enrich the lives of young people in her hometown of Lakeland. So she created Broadway Beginnings as a way to expose students in Central Florida to master artists in the performing arts community. Using her industry connections, she offers students access to unique training opportunities.
"Nothing brings me more joy than watching my students surprise themselves in a rehearsal room," Lyons said.  "My goal is to train these students in the art of musical theatre while fostering a community of connection rooted in trust." Broadway Beginnings focuses on the growth of the whole artist—mind, body, and soul—as they train the industry’s next generation of healthy, balanced artists.
