SHYC 2022 Annual Meeting Notice & Important Documents
Dear SHYC Members,
The 2022 SHYC Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday, September 2nd at 8pm at the Club. All members are invited and encouraged to attend. Below are links to four (4) important documents including a proxy, in addition to a message from Commodore Peterson and the SHYC Executive Committee & Officers. Message from the SHYC Executive Committee & Officers. We are seeking your support for two motions which will be up for vote at the Annual Meeting. The first motion is to increase our club's annual dues by 10% for summer 2023, which is a $110 increase for the Family Membership Class, and less by the set percentage for the other classes of membership. The last dues increase was made 4 years ago at the 2018 Annual Meeting, which was also a 10% increase. As we are all very aware, all costs have gone up significantly over the past 4 years. State minimum wage increases affect the broadest group of our club employees (up almost 50% since 2018); service costs, electricity, and gas are all up more than 10%; our club’s insurance costs are up over 15%; and we are continuing to experience significant increases in many other areas of our operations. This dues increase will enable us to continue to deliver to our members the services and experiences that make SHYC special. We are also proposing a 2.5% annual dues increase starting the following year (summer 2024) so that we can keep up with inflation. The 2.5% annual increase can be reduced or eliminated by vote of the Executive Committee each year. I hope you will vote in favor of both motions to support the best future for SHYC.
