And so it all keeps coming!!! COVID and Influenza is still very rife at South End School.

Sadly, we needed to close Kōwhai and put the students on home learning for the week. They will be back at school ready to go on Monday 15th. Thank you to the parents and caregivers of these students for your support.

Many thanks to Carol Pilcher who stepped in for me while I was recovering from surgery - It’s nice to be back!

A very warm welcome to our new students and families:

  • Rimu: Tamihana

School Books

Could you please check home, under beds, in the back of wardrobes for any school books. We are missing quite a few junior readers and would love to have them returned for future use 🙂 thank you!

HERO:  Is our School management System. It is vital that all families hook up to Hero so that we can communicate with you. As we get up and running you will be able to see your child and their learning progress. There are also features such as sending an absence (that gets sent directly to the class roll) and viewing medical room visits. When making an account on the Hero app please use the same email you have registered with the school (so it links to your child/ren), if you would like to update your email address please email us at office@southend.school.nz and tell us your email address + the student profile to attach it to. click here for more information: Hero.

Water

We are a Water Only School. We encourage all students to have a water bottle with them at school. If a child brings another type of drink to school the teachers will take the drink off them and give it back at the end of the day, to take home.
