Many years ago, when I read "Autobiography of a Yogi" by P. Yogananda, I remember this one conversation that stuck with me. Yogananda's teacher was speaking:
"..so long as we breathe the free air of earth, we are under obligation to render selfless service. Only those who have mastered the breathless state are extempt from this requirement." (paraphrazed)
I wondered "What is this Breathless State?" Is it possible to be without breath?
Yogis and ancient masters observed that in a state of yoga, samadhi, or nirvana, the breath is stopped without any harmful effect to the practitioner. How could it be possible?
I embarked on a long journey to find out.
I'll be sharing what I have learned and what I practice myself in the upcoming courses next weekend in Boston.
