The Jim Rutherford Scholarship Golf outing took place on August 9, 2022 at Crestwicke Country Club. We greatly appreciate the continued support of our sponsors, and scholarship underwriters that make this possible. Special Congratulations to the winning team pictured above! (Left to Right) Shane Rutherford, Leighton Rutherford, Jacob Israel, and Todd Israel.

This scholarship was established by the McLean County Soil and Water Conservation District to assist outstanding agricultural students at any Illinois College. The student awarded the scholarship demonstrate superior agricultural academic achievement, commitment to soil and water conservation and potential for innovation and/or leadership ability. The Jim Rutherford Scholarship is awarded in the fall semester of the academic year. This scholarship fund is made possible by generous donations from local donors. Each year an annual Golf Outing is held to raise the necessary funds. Help support the next generation of local agri-business professionals! To make a donation, please contact our office.

Pale Coneflower (Echinacea pallida)

Pale coneflower grows in dry prairies and open woodlands throughout Illinois. It may reach two to four feet tall. There are bristly hairlike structures on the stems and leaves. Leaves may be up to 10 inches long and one and one-half inches wide. Its lower leaves are lance-shaped with parallel venation and smooth edges, a feature that helps to distinguish this plant from purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea).
