IMPORTANT REMINDER! On September 4th our Sunday worship services will change to 8:00am and 10:15am The Thursday service will remain at 7:00pm.
Psalm 121 is a comfort Psalm.  We see how the Lord treats both the Psalmist and us as we remain strong in faith, waiting for his help and protection.  Even when it appers that God is sleeping, it is not so.  He watches and keeps us secure even t the end.  (Martin Luther) 
     
  • Women’s Bible Study - Fridays at 7:00 a.m. in the conference room at church.  We are currently studying 10 Lies About God by Pastor David Scharf. Come and join us on Fridays. 
  • The Meaning of Marriage - see below 
This study will be based on key texts from Scripture and insight from The Meaning of Marriage by Timothy Keller. This class is for those hoping to get married, those who have just been married, and those who have been married for a long time. You can watch a short promo of the class here. Sign up by September 4 in the church narthex or email Pastor Cloute if interested.
Register for Sunday School 

If you are planning on sending your child(ren) to Sunday School please let us know by emailing Pastor Redfield at pastortredfield@gmail.com.  A registration form is attached that you can fill out. 

When you send your email, include the grade level for each child.

Sunday School will start on September 11th and will meet between services starting at 9:15 am.

  • Teen Bible Class: On September 11th, the Teen Bible Class (8th-12th graders) will start an Apologetics Bible Study. We will meet in the board room in the church office and will tackle answering such questions as: Can we prove God exists? Hasn’t evolution been proven factual? Is the Bible true? Was there a worldwide flood? Why do bad things happen? This class will help students be able to defend their Christian faith in a world that is becoming more opposed to the truths of it.
  • Sunday School: will meet in various school classrooms.
  • Adult Bible Study: 1 Peter – Living Hope in a Living Savior. Christians in Peter’s day were facing separation, suffering, persecution, and also struggling to fully grasp the true grace of God in Jesus. Really, they were not too different from us. Join us in the fellowship hall of the church basement to be encouraged in living hope and to be strengthened by our living Savior
September 12 - Morning Moms from 8:15am-9:20am in TSL's Clark St. multi-purpose room. This group focuses on the mother’s spiritual growth and allows for relationship building between the moms attending.  Children are always present playing during Bible Study.  We meet every 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 8:15 to 9:20 a.m. in the Clark Street multipurpose room.
 

September 13 - winGs at 6:30pm in church narthex/fellowship area outside of the church office. Women of St. Luke’s this is your woman’s group. Women of
St. Luke’s means any confirmed female member of St. Luke’s. What do we do? Serve others in various ways with our God given talents and abilities while having fun and fellowship. Join us for our first meeting on Tuesday, September 13, at 6:30pm in the church narthex/entry way. Bring your favorite game and a friend-share both with us! We will be playing games and planning our future meeting events. If you have a idea for a meeting, please share we’d love to hear it. After all it is YOUR St. Luke’s women’s group! At this time we are updating the group email list. If you’d like to be on the “in” as to what the women of St. Luke’s are doing PLEASE drop you email address with name and phone number in a box located on the desk in the church office marked winGs (or bring it to our first meeting).



September 14--Adult Choir at 7:00pm. Do you feel a calling to sing God's praises and  spread the Gospel message through music? Come share choral experiences, music learning, and fellowship as a member of our St. Luke's Choir! Rehearsals begin again on Wednesday, September 14th at 7:00 pm. We meet up in our choir loft. If you want to join us, but are unable to commit for the entire year, please consider singing with us during the times when you can. Rehearsals will be on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00 pm usually, but we'll be rehearsing from 6:00-7:00 pm during Advent and Lent. September 19 - JAMM from 7:45am-9:15am in TSL's Clark St. gym & cafeteria. JAMM (Jesus, Arts, Music, Movement) is focused on introducing families, particularly children, to Jesus.  We will be meeting on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Mondays of the month (August-May) in the Clark Street gym and multipurpose room. Pastor Schultz will be leading Jesus time.  Play activities will be available for families in the gym. An art station and any other messy play will be in the multipurpose room.
 
Sarah Gustafson has developed a new ministry for young children and their families. Maybe you heard her presentation last week after each worship service? If not, you can check out the flyer above for all the details. 
Sarah is looking for people to help with each JAMM session. There are multiple ways you can be involved with this ministry: prayer, photographer, set up team, clean up team, activity leader, greeter or general helper. Pioneers
Attention ALL children in Kindergarten-8th grade:
Come join us for our first meeting on Wednesday, September 7, starting at 5:45pm at the old Clark Park shelter located across from St. Luke’s church by Heiden Pond. You will have a chance to kayak and/or canoe and have a snack.

Attention parents of all children in Kindergarten-8th grades:
This is at the same time as TSL’s first PTP (Parent Teacher Participation) meeting at TSL’s Clark street campus starting at 6:00pm. Please drop your child(ren) off before and pick them up after the meeting at the old Clark Park shelter.
  • if you have a LIFE JACKET, please bring it
  • if you have a preferred kayak or canoe, bring that too
  • if you received a folder or registration form at TSL's registration, please bring that with you at pick up (after PTP meeting)
  • there's a one-time $10 fee for the entire year + $4 for a pine car if you participate in the derby in Spring
  • all children welcome - members, non-members, students at TSL or any WUSD school

A presentation on Great Hymns of Faith included In The New Hymnal will be held on September 10th beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Landmark Church and WELS Museum at 6814 N. 107th Street, Milwaukee.  This presentation will briefly look at the history behind some of the great hymns of our Christian musical heritage and then sing through them using the refurbished reed organ at the Salem Landmark Church and WELS Museum. Most of the hymns will be familiar to users of The Lutheran Hymnal (1941) and Christian Worship (1993).  This presentation will focus on some of the historic hymns in the new Christian Worship (2021).
