Don't stop at Summer Sailing, there's sailing and racing out of MBYC all year long!! This special clinic is just right for our C2/C3 racers, any kids who rocked their Beginning Sabot Class or started Beginning Sabot Racing over the Summer.
We'll have some of our favorite coaches working with the kids on beginning/intermediate Sabot racing skills. There'll be chalk talks, land drills and on-the-water drills focusing on learning, fun and making new friends!
Topics that will be covered:
- How to start - timing, what do the whistles mean?
- Sailing upwind fast
- Rounding the marks of the course
- Dealing with the other boats on the course - Right of Way Rules
- Crossing the finish line with speed
- How to prepare for a race day
- What regattas should you start with? How do you progress through the sabot racing fleets?
Details:
- Saturday and Sunday, 11am-4pm.
- Bring water, snacks, lunch - or the galley will be open.
- Club Boats provided for those who don't have their own yet.
- $75 per sailor for the weekend.
- $40 if only sailing one day.
