Hello, present and former MCA members
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and let you know how excited I am to be the new Mobile Claims Association President. I want to thank Joe Morris and the MCA board for their challenging work and altruistic dedication to the success of the MCA. I plan on building upon your accomplishments.
Now let me tell you about myself. My name is Geoffrey Conrad, and I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I have lived in Mobile, AL, since 2004. I have been in the claims industry for over 17 years, and I embrace each day as an opportunity to help someone deliver the promise of indemnity. I found my passion as a property claims instructor early on in my adjuster career and developed training courses, curriculum, and material to better prepare our property adjusters for glory. As the Director of Training for Crawford Catastrophe Services, I believe, as an industry, that we (both adjuster and restoration vendor) can do better to deliver an exceptional claim/repair experience. We can accomplish this mission by sharing experiences/knowledge, networking, and investing in ourselves through training. The purpose of the MCA is to provide those opportunities to you.
Our mission at MCA is to provide network opportunities with business professionals, vendors, IA firm leaders, and fellow adjusters and receive monthly training. Our monthly meeting provides a forum where insurance representatives gather for professional development and community involvement. If you are a seasoned veteran or newbie adjuster, we welcome you.
I look forward to working with the new MCA board to build the MCA membership and offer value in the form of education, networking, and industry guidance that we can translate into our careers.

June Meeting Minutes

The MCA held their meeting on May 10, 2022 at Judy’s Place in Mobile, AL.
Our MCA President in office for this meeting, Joe Morris, presented a PowerPoint presentation of the National Flood Insurance Program on claim setup and estimates and how to compile and load your claims photos. Joe also provided the adjusters with important content, such as a Buddy App that is easy to sign up for. This app links to the adjuster’s email address and shows the adjuster the exact steps of how to download pictures to the app in three quick and easy steps.
Our guest speaker for the evening was Dr. Clint Howard. Dr. Howard is a cervical thoracic lumbar and spine surgeon with the Orthopaedic Group. He performs treatment for patients of all ages, from 2-year-old toddlers to 92-year-old patients. Dr. Howard provided an excellent PowerPoint presentation and discussed spine basics and back pain, back and neck pain vs. arm and leg pain, where the pain is, what relieves the pain, when the pain becomes problematic, and the risk associated with complex symptoms. He also discussed topics and differences between, osteoarthritis pain, ankle spine pain, radicular pain vs spinal stenosis, spinal stenosis signs and symptoms, cervical stenosis vs radiculopathy myelopathy, lumbar stenosis signs and symptoms, causes of lumbar stenosis. He further discussed cervical stenosis prognosis and treatment plan when diagnosed, fusion surgery, risk and differences, and benefits between cervical and disc replacement. Dr. Howard gave a good exercise tip that will help eliminate some of your back pain and stressed the importance of core strengthening exercises and to put and make time in your body.
