Building research capacity in Scotland's NHS is vital to support recovery and achieve our vision for the future of clinical research delivery, so it is welcome news the next round of the Chief Scientist Office's Clinical Academic Fellowships has opened for applications. This provides the opportunity for clinical professionals early in their career to undertake a PhD with individuals from a variety of different roles are encouraged to apply for the fellowships, including doctors and dentists in training, GPs, GDP’s, NMAHP's, and Healthcare Scientists. A fellowship investigating long-term treatments for epilepsy has also been announced by Epilepsy Research UK and the Medical Research Council (MRC).
