World Pathfinder Day is a special Sabbath in which we celebrate what it means to be a Pathfinder. Pathfinders and leaders wear their uniforms, participate, and lead Sabbath activities base on the GC theme of the year. It is a day full of singing, preaching, smiles, and Pathfinder spirit.
We are excited to announce the recent additions to the Alberta Conference Uniform Ministries Team! Let’s welcome them and keep them in our prayers as they join the Executive Coordinator, Samantha Tshuma and work towards a transformation of the Master Guides Ministry in Alberta.
To all our customers,
We'll be closed on Sunday 4th and Monday 5th of September due to Labour Day. We'll be happy to see you again after these days!
Ending Hunger Through Climate Adaptation
Julieta is a survivor of Tropical Storm Ana, which ripped through Mozambique in January. “The cyclone landfall was really challenging,” Julieta shares. “We had to run away looking for safe places as ‘crazy’ people.”
The deadly storm destroyed homes and flooded crops. Families like Julieta’s, who rely on their crops to survive, now face hunger and the daunting task of rebuilding their lives.
ADRA, in partnership with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, recently began a climate-smart project in Mozambique, of which Julieta is a part. The project looks at the current realities and challenges of climate, hunger, and gender equality and addresses each to make a lasting difference. Read how this project impacts Julieta and her family.
How much is an education worth to you? Would you defy your family to go to school? Would you go against the grain of social expectations to achieve your dream?
Education is a proven way to break the cycle of poverty and the perpetuation of injustice. Through the BRIGHT project, ADRA has partnered with communities in Niger, Sudan, and Myanmar to make education more accessible to children. BRIGHT is changing the perceptions of education’s value, thus ensuring more children – especially girls – go to school. It is also building teachers’ capacity and offering support to schools.
