Many Hands Make Light Work
Did you know on average it takes 15-20 volunteers to make a Sunday morning at Fusion happen? From children’s church, to worship team, to bringing snacks, our rockstar volunteers generously give of their time, skills, and resources to make Fusion the place we know and love. However, we could use some more help!
Usually, this section of the midweek is a place for a devotional thought, but today I want to use this space as an invitation (and maybe a bit of a challenge).
ANYONE is welcome to serve, but if you call Fusion home, and you’re not already serving at Fusion, would you commit to serving at Fusion one time a month? Below is a list of ways to get involved. If you’re willing to help out, or interested in more information you can fill out this form or email the team leader to get plugged in.
There are a couple of things I want you to know about volunteering at Fusion:
1. You can volunteer as often or as infrequently as you want. You tell us when you’re available and when you want to serve.
2. You can try something and decide it’s not for you. If you volunteer and quickly realize it’s not for you or no longer works for your schedule, no hard feelings! Let us know and we’ll adjust accordingly. You're also not locked in forever! Commit to a semester or a month and see how it goes.
3. You don’t have to be an expert, just willing to learn. Even the more "scary" roles like tech team or children’s church don’t require previous experience. We’ll teach you how to do each role and never just leave you to figure it out yourself.
4. If there’s a way you’re feeling called to serve that’s not listed here, reach out! I’d love to hear your ideas and see how we can help you use your skills and passions.
5. Volunteering should (more often than not) bring you joy, not guilt or dread. We want you to feel excited about your contributions to God’s kingdom and we want serving to be a way you are connecting with God and with others. If for any reason you’re finding you’re feeling more guilt or dread than you do joy in your serving at Fusion would you please reach out to me? We want to make that right.
If you have questions about how you might serve at Fusion, please reach out! I’d be happy to chat with you more!
Grace and peace,
Pastor Taryn
