4 - Discover Rotary
The evening Discover Rotary will be at 5:30 pm 9/20 via Zoom.
Discovery Rotary is also available this month on 9/27 at 11AM prior to the lunch at the Westin.
10 volunteers are needed to read to a classroom at Alexander Elementary School. You will be matched with a teacher in K, 1st or 2nd grade for the year. The Rotarian will “adopt” the classroom and purchase and read one book to the class per month throughout the school year beginning in October. Total cost is about $100 and 5-6 hours of time. Lorraine Holeman will be hosting a zoom on Wednesday, September 14th at 12pm for interested volunteers. She will email the link and invitation directly to our members who are interested. One of our scholars, Jadin Beek, who is getting her Master's degree in counseling at Souther Wesleyan University, will be presented the Outstanding College Student Award during the upcoming 2022 Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards Ceremony. This award recognizes a college student who is viewed as a diversity champion & demonstrates a leading role in promoting diversity in the campus environment/within the community. The ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 20th.
