Update from the UnityCR Board of Trustees
The board of trustees regretfully accepted Michelle Cole's resignation at our July meeting. While we still see Michelle most every Sunday, she has taken a new position in Ames, Iowa as Executive Director of ACCESS. We are excited about Michelle's new opportunity and yet will miss her wonderful contributions to the board and beyond. In the short time she has served, she took on her liaison roles and service on two task forces with amazing dedication. Lynda Black Smith will assume her role as Secretary, Cindy Thompson will fill the liaison role to the Grounds Ministry Team, and Sally Miller will be the new liaison to the Earthcare Ministry Team. Thanks for stepping up Lynda, Cindy, and Sally. Please join us in thanking Michelle for her UCR service and congratulating her on her new role!
According to the UCR bylaws, the board has the ability to appoint someone to fulfill the remainder of the vacant board term. Since we are within a few months of beginning the regular nominating process, the board decided to have the nominating team look for an individual to join the board for a two-year role in addition to the other 3-year open positions on the board to begin in January. Begin your discernment process now to see if board service might allow your light to shine a little brighter at UCR!
