We are excited to share with you how we canvas. We target specific areas in neighborhoods near where we are having events. We go door to door with flyers that have valuable information about our project, upcoming COVID-19 pop-up vaccinations, and your rights! We leave the information in people’s hands or on their door and if we can, we conduct a brief anonymous survey. We are here to help connect people to needed resources. We wear masks to make the people around us feel more safe and welcome and test for COVID-19 weekly. If organizing a family project is complicated, then organizing an entire county is a little more difficult. Historically, some voices have been listened to while others have been silenced. Building a city where everyone's voice is heard is a project that will take time to perfect. Our Humanity Bernalillo wants to contribute to this process of many voices; We want to know the needs and the current well-being of our community. Your opinion is very important. We do not want to assume that we know what the community needs. We want to listen to you and listen to your neighbor.

Social policy changes should reflect the thinking of the people they affect the most.  That's why all the information that we collect by canvassing our neighborhoods gets organized into a simple format that can be shared with policy makers. Changes should come from the heart of the community, not from a comfortable but distant office.

You have the power to make this project more representative by sharing your opinion and recommendations.
