Events & Programs Newsletter for Reed Students
September 6, 2022
All events posted are Pacific Time (PT) unless otherwise noted.

Hello, Reedies! We hope you have been exploring all of the spaces the college has to offer, but this week we would like to shine a spotlight on the Student Center. This is a unique, shared space that serves as both an informal community gathering space for students and a working environment for professional and student staff in the Office for Student Engagement (OSE), the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC), and Students for Education, Equity, and Direct Service (SEEDS).

There are several reservable spaces for you to use, including two student work spaces, a conference room, living area, and a BIPOC student lounge. Find out how to book these spaces on our website. We look forward to seeing you there!

As a reminder, this newsletter highlights events hosted by student organizations and select Reed departments during the next two weeks. Please be sure to check out events.reed.edu for other events organized by academic departments.

Sometimes the newsletter list so many events that it ends up getting clipped. Please click on the 'view entire message' link at the bottom of this email to view all of the listings.

If you have questions, please reach out to student-engagement@reed.edu.

Play Break

Play Break is an emotional-social break for wellness through play. The idea comes from play therapy's effect on individuals with trauma and anxiety. Learning and engaging become an enjoyable experience when you use to play as an intervention. Playing is really just problem-solving satisfyingly for the user. While this isn't structured play therapy, it is a play intervention for stress, anxiety, and trauma.

There will be board games and there will be cards. You can learn a new game or teach us your favorite. Join us for a break, play, and decompression. Maybe even laughter.
