BOARDING NEWSLETTER
Kia ora whānau and welcome back to our week 6 of term 3 boarding newsletter. Yay for Spring finally arriving! Great to see we have longer and warmer days.
The Week So Far

This week has seen some glorious Spring like weather, and it is great to have seen lots more sunshine. The week has been an unusually quiet one with boys away at winter tournament’s all around New Zealand. We have also had 2 industry interview days plus Junior service day, meaning attendance at School has been limited this week. Lots of boys have taken advantage of the quiet week and headed home for a well-deserved, mid -term break, over the long weekend.

Our Boarding Administrator, Brodie Morris leaves us today to start her maternity leave with her baby due at the end of September. We wish Brodie well for the exciting times ahead. Brodies temporary replacement will hopefully start from 12 September with more details to follow.

Due to the short week and high absence rate we have changed our trip to the Te Puna Taimona hot pools to this coming Tuesday 8-10pm. This trip is for boys in years 11-13 and should allow boys a great opportunity to soak and unwind. On Thursday we will have a Tribe themed night. Dinner is Chinese banquet followed by an Inter tribe multi-sport competition. Look out for the photos in next week’s newsletter from these events.

We hope you have a fabulous weekend wherever you are. Best Wishes Dai and the boarding team.

Hunter Heath, Tihema Humm, Hawaikii Lanauze and Christopher Guiney stayed in during the weekend and had the opportunity to visit the gardens and enjoy the sunshine.
Five of our boys, Jimmy Ferguson, Brody Fraser, Bede Giera, Jonty Fryer and Sonny Ifopo have been competing in the U15 Invitational Rugby Tournament this week. So far they have played against Napier Boys, Christchurch Boys, Westlake College and Wellington College. Each game has been tough and the boys have played with great heart... a win is just around the corner!
Lemon chicken and potato gratin was the favorite dinner dish this week, it was delicious!
