📚 School Is Back in Session

September 2022

On the first day of school in 1998, a young, ambitious percussion teacher instructed the students to read a new percussion book by the end of the semester. The book was titled Orchestral Percussion by Tim Penny. Legend has it that the students are still searching for the book...

If you're still dreaming of summer vacation, we'll catch you up on everything you may have missed. To make the most of the new school year, we're very excited to offer a number of new methods and solos. Now that marching band season is in full force, we'll dive into that, as well.

Percussionists are often sitting in the back of the room while wind players are working on essential technical exercises. Five Minute Drill offers percussionists a series of fundamental exercises that are fun AND effective. Exercises include fun play-along tracks that can be performed on a practice pad or mallet keyboard.

Nine Minute Drill

Picking up where Five Minute Drill left off, Nine Minute Drill is the next level for percussion fundamentals. Put your students through their paces with a wide variety of musical styles and tempi while working on technique, rudiments, and overall musicianship.

Marching Season Is Here 🥁

Congratulations to Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps and Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps on their successful 2022 Drum Corps International seasons. Both corps tied to share the Silver Medal with the Bluecoats coming out on top with the Fred Sanford Best Percussion Performance Award.
