GreenTown Los Altos' 9th annual fundraising Dinner & Auction will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022. The event will be held from 5-9pm in the lovely courtyard of the Los Altos History Museum. This year's gathering also celebrates GreenTown's 15th anniversary! Can you believe it?

So what can you expect? A dazzling, electrifying, energizing, brilliant evening. 

Our goal?
Make it an evening to remember starting with reconnecting with good friends who share your value of a healthy, happy planet!  The night kicks off with happy hour, delectable hor d'oeuvres and a signature cocktail/mocktail, followed by a delicious dinner, from Karen Bevels Catering, featuring local, sustainable foods and wine. Dinner will be followed by “electrifying” talks (see below), honored guests, a live auction, and dancing! We can’t wait!

Electrifying

The theme for the evening is Electrify Your Life! highlighting the urgent need to shift from fossil fuel-based energy to renewable electric energy. We’ll have two speakers who inspire that transition. We are honored to have State Senator Josh Becker headlining the event. He has worked to combat climate change in both his professional and personal lives! You are sure to be “electrified” by his talk and motivated to do more. Don Bray, who heads up Community Relations at Silicon Valley Clean Energy, will help us with the “how”, offering insights on our clean electric provider’s programs and how they can make the transition easier. 

Energizing

Our awards for 2022 are sure to energize you! We are thrilled to honor two amazing advocates for change in our community:

 

Galen Rosenberg, Assistant Principal of Los Altos High School is our Community Partner of the Year. He has been a true champion of safe cycling in our community advocating for better bicycle infrastructure around Los Altos High School and working closely with GreenTown on our ReCycle Bike Drive, from hosting it, to helping to refurbish bikes, to getting bikes into the hands of kids who need them.

Steve Schmidt is our Environmental Hero of the Year! His work to understand his own electricity use has grown into a business that uses software to provide free on-line energy audits and energy-saving recommendations. You won’t want to miss his story!

Brilliant

Then get ready for the auction! We have curated an enticing assortment of earth-friendly and earth-fun baskets, dining options, and experiences you’ll just love! Prior to the event, support our online silent auction, which opens on Sept. 15. During the event, raise your paddle for our exciting live auction items and our fund-a-need!

And did we mention dancing? Oh yes, there will be dancing a-plenty to the tunes of DJ Matt.

This is GreenTown's main fundraiser to support our many programs and events. Please support our environmental work in the community by joining us for this fun and inspiring event!
