Central Mall transformed
Works on the transformation of the Kalamunda Central Mall are finished! The project marks the start of the 10-year vision for the Kalamunda Town Centre coming to life. The vision of the Kalamunda Activity Centre Plan is for Central Mall to become the heart of Kalamunda’s night-time economy, delivering an intimate and vibrant urban experience that supports both day and night-time activities in the centre. It is a beautiful new space and offers a wide variety of fantastic businesses.
Opening night will be celebrated from 5pm tonight (Friday 2 September) in partnership with the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce, who will host the Kalamunda Night Market. Following the Welcome to Country and opening speeches, Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce will be hosting one of their much loved night markets. There will be Stilt walkers, fire twirling, face painting, and more, so bring your family, friends, check out the new look mall and enjoy the festivities!
On Saturday 3 September the Kalamunda Artisan market, owned and operated by the amazing Kalamunda Rotary Club, will be held in the new space, followed by the Kalamunda Farmers Market on Sunday 4.
A number of special events are also planned in the new space.
The precinct’s design features spaces for community to sit and enjoy with a vibrant line up of special events. Don’t forget to take a look in the evening – the night lighting will be impressive.
During the week and outside of special event times the area will function as a shared space, allowing for vehicle movements one way from Haynes Street to Mead Street. Local and visitors and encouraged to support local businesses in the district and visit today.

Spotlight on tree clearing
Trees are an important element of the City’s diverse urban and rural environment, providing a variety of social, economic, and environmental benefits to the community.
Did you know that clearing of a tree, or pruning that may impact the viability of a tree may be considered “works” under the Planning and Development Act 2005 and thus may require a development approval, prior to works taking place?
If you're unsure whether you need to submit a development application and want to make sure you're doing the right thing, visit the City's website or call us on 9257 9999 to discuss.

Please be aware, there will be no grace period for infringements issued against properties not adequately prepared for bushfire season.
