今年5月にベータ版をリリースしたAIオーディオ・プラグイン&コミュニティプラットフォーム「Neutone」が、一般財団法人デジタルコンテンツ協会の主催する「Innovative Technologies 2022」に採択されました。

2012年に経済産業省事業としてスタートしたInnovative Technologiesは今年で11回目を迎え、これまでイノベーションによってコンテンツ産業の発展に大きく貢献することが期待される先進的な技術を採択してきました。今回「Neutone」は、「AIによる画像生成が大きな話題を呼ぶ今日、人の創造性とは何なのか、その概念が大きくゆらぎつつある。そんな時代に、本作品Neutoneは、AIにより誰もが新しい音楽を楽しく創造できる、そんな明るい未来を示してくれている。南澤 孝太（慶應義塾大学大学院メディアデザイン研究科（KMD） 教授）」と評価していただき、採択となりました。「Neutone」の詳細については、こちらのプロジェクトページをご覧ください。

また今回の採択に伴い、今年2022年11月16日~18日に幕張メッセにて開催される「INTER BEE IGNITION × DCEXPO」にて「Neutone」の展示を行う事となりました。他にも大変興味深い革新的な技術が展示される予定ですので、ぜひご来場ください。
 

Neutone, an AI audio plug-in & community platform that was released as beta in this May has been selected for "Innovative Technologies 2022" sponsored by the Digital Content Association of Japan.

"Innovative Technologies" was launched in 2012 as a project of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Nowow in its 11th year it has selected advanced technologies that are expected to make a significant contribution to the development of the content industry through innovation.

Neutone was described as "Today, when image generation by AI has become a major topic, the concept of what human creativity is is being greatly distorted. In such an age, this work Neutone shows us a bright future in which anyone can enjoy creating new music with AI. 日本でホストされオンラインでの開催となる3度目のConference on AI Music Creativityにて、9月13日18:15-19:00で徳井が登壇します。「Performing with AI - AI as Alternative Intelligence and Human Creativity in Music」と題して、Qosmoがこれまで開発してきた様々な音楽生成のモデルを使用したパフォーマンスを紹介、そしてAI研究者やミュージシャンが使用可能なリアルタイムでのオーディオ処理ツール/プラットフォームを紹介し、さらにはそういったツールをあえて「誤用」することで拓かれる創造性の可能性について説明します。

また、同日9月13日の14:00~16:00でAIオーディオ・プラグイン&コミュニティプラットフォーム「Neutone」のワークショップをオンラインで実施します。DDSPとRAVEを使用してリアルタイムで動作するモデルを作成し、ミュージシャンやクリエイターがそのモデルを使用できるようにNeutone SDKでラップし、最終的にDAWで読み込み動作させる方法を紹介します。

Nao will talk at the third Conference on AI Music Creativity, hosted in Japan and held online on September 13 from 18:15-19:00. The presentation, titled "Performing with AI - AI as Alternative Intelligence and Human Creativity in Music," will introduce performances using various music generation models that Qosmo has developed so far. And he will also introduce real-time audio processing tools/platforms that can be used by AI researchers and musicians, and the creative possibilities that can be opened by "misusing" these tools.

On the same day, September 13, from 14:00 to 16:00, we will also organize an online workshop of Neutone, an AI audio plug-in and community platform, showing how to create the models that run in real-time using DDSP and RAVE, wrap them in the Neutone SDK so that musicians and creators can use them, and finally load and run them in a DAW.

At the ODSC (Open Data Science Conference) on September 7 from 2:10-2:55, Akira will give a talk titled "MLOps for Musicians.” The speech will focus on AI and music, and will cover the development of these technologies as described in Qosmo's white paper, "An Overview of AI Music Generation and its Potential (2022 Edition)," released this March. Pointing out the fact that many musicians are not technically proficient in AI he will introduce Neutone, an AI audio plug-in & community platform released by Qosmo that aims to bridge the gap between the latest AI research and music creators as an example of the democratization of AI technology.

Nao was on TBS Radio After 6 Junction "AI and Art, the Frontline!" broadcasted from 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18. This time the theme of the program, which features a wide range of cultures, is the relationship between AI and art.

Nao is participating in Stochastic Labs, an art and science residency program based in Berkeley, California. The program has been focusing on AI and art for the past few years, and many artists, AI researchers, engineers, and entrepreneurs from around the world spend extended periods of time during the summer to create artwork and exchange ideas. The program is a stimulating environment for research and creation related to AI and creativity, with members of the development team of Stable Diffusion, a recently released large-scale open source image generation model, and the founder of artbreeder, a well-known AI collage tool, also participating in the program.
