Welcome, New Families!
We hope our families have enjoyed a restful summer and are having a smooth return to the regular activities. At ASV, as it is customary at this time of the year, faculty and staff are preparing for the 2022-2023 academic year with the Fall Work Week. The school is also giving the final touch to a number of orientation events for new and returning families.
Please, find in this special edition of ASV Voices some announcements and reminders specifically addressed to new families and join us for the important New Family Orientation that we will host on Monday, September 5, 2022, from 11:30 to 13:00 in the Athletic Center.
As you can see in the 2022-2023 Academic Calendar, classes will begin on Thursday, September 8, 202 at 09:30.

ASV Voices, the School Newsletter
This email you are reading is ASV Voices, the official newsletter of the American School of Valencia. Every Saturday during the academic year, ASV Voices is sent to the email address you provided during the enrollment process. There are additional releases like the summer updates or the back-to-school editions.

Complete ASV Voices with the Mobile App
We invite you to download and install the ASV mobile app if you do not have it yet. The app provides information and announcements previously included in ASV Voices, and has interesting features such as the events calendar, the document repository, and the teachers’ directory. Additionally, the interface has been recently updated and the app looks fresh and clean.
When installing the app, we recommend to allow push notifications ( you can choose specific categories) and keep English as the app language. This setting only affects menus as every messages or post is shared both in English and Spanish.

2022-2023 Academic Year. Orientation Events
Prior to the beginning of classes for students on Thursday, September 8, 2022, the school is organizing the following family orientation events:
- New Family Orientation (onsite). Monday, September 5, 2022 at 11:30-13:00 in the Athletic Center
- New students in Middle School and High School grade levels are invited to go to the theater, where they will be met by the school counselors and the student ambassadors.
- PS-ES Back to School Parent Information Meeting (virtual). Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 14:00 - 15:00. Join us using this Google Meet link: meet.google.com/wkh-gzrq-ohm
- Meet the Teacher Meetings:
- Preschool: Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
- Elementary School: Wednesday, September 7, 2022
All new families are invited to attend the first event and learn more about how ASV is organized in each section as well as to meet the leadership team.

Elementary School
The following letter describes the individual learning materials needed in Elementary School before beginning classes on Thursday, September 8, 2022. This document was previously shared in July 2022 and is also available through the ASV App and the Parent Resources Site.
Please note the Parent Resource Site is accessible only with an ASV parent email address.

Middle School Materials Information
Middle School families were provided with a list of recommended school supplies that helps students to be ready for the new academic year in July 2022. In case you need to review that information, please download one of the following letters:
There is no requirement to have everything for the first day (Thursday, September 8, 2022). The first few days of school are for settling in and individual teachers will be available to help with advice if necessary.

High School Materials Information: Grades 9-12
High School students have developed an organizational system that works best for them and will come prepared with the materials that they prefer. Their teachers will communicate any specific material needed for the courses they take upon the students return to school on Thursday, September 8, 2022.

Physical Education Uniform
While completing the enrollment process, new families receive information about the ASV official Physical Education (PE) uniform. In case you do not have the PE uniform yet for your child, we remind that all of the athletic attire is available for online purchase through our supplier Svelto.

ASV+ 2022-2023 Program Registration
In May 2022, we launched the ASV+ Program for 2022-2023. If you have not registered your child yet for ASV+ 2022-2023, the information and the registration links are available below as well as on the the ASV Parent Resources Website (https://parents.asvalencia.org/english/asv).
If you have already registered your child for ASV+, please do not register them again.

Waiting List
Some ASV+ activities, such as STEAM (Grades 4-5 and 6-7), already have a waiting list. So, please feel free to select another ASV+ activity for your child.

Business Office Reminder
The ASV Business Office would like to welcome all of you to the new academic year 2022-2023. As we indicated in previous newsletters, we invite you to visit the Business Office section within the parent resources site. There you will find interesting information related to the new school year :
- 2022-2023 ASV fees
- Billing policy for the 2022-2023 academic year. Notable aspects that have changed compared to the previous year:
- New bus service costs for random use cases or for a few months.
- Update of commissions for payments with credit/debit card
- Update of continuity insurance 2022-2023 coverage
- Different forms
The billing of the receipt for September 2022 will be made on September 13, 2022. The rest of the monthly payments will be billed on the first days of each month.
