🐉 Dragon’s Rise: The Forgotten Realms - ArtStation Challenge 

A newly announced art challenge from ArtStation! Categories include Game Character Art (real-time), Film/VFX Character Art (rendered), Game Environment/Level Art (real-time), and Prop Art (rendered).

Each challenge will have 3 winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd place), plus Honourable Mentions. All winners and Honourable Mentions will receive an ArtStation award graphic on their ArtStation profiles.

WASD Careers

W.A.S.D Careers is the only in-person video games-focused careers fair in the UK.

This is a great chance to showcase your favourite projects and work to an array of leading industry talent. You can also network with future employers, meet friends with similar interests and learn about the behind-the-scenes business that makes the gaming world run.

And, as we previously mentioned, we’ll be working with WASD to help curate this event into something that provides relevant, educational content for career seekers looking to work in games.

This is a great way to not only get your own cogs turning but to view other people’s submissions as well.

📝 Notion - Notion is a project management and note-taking software that is completely free for personal use. It is highly customizable and you can think of it as a virtual journal! You can create different pages depending on your needs such as a to-do list, a finance page with spreadsheets, or even a chilled-out home page! Here’s a YouTube video showing you how can customize your Notion to fit your needs and aesthetic.

💡 WBD Access x Rocksteady Studios Games Academy

Warner Bros. Discovery Access has partnered with Rocksteady Studios and NextGen Skills Academy to create a hybrid 12-week skills development programme focusing on developing your skills and knowledge of the games industry. Some parts of the course will take place in London, and costs will be covered by the programme. 

In this course you will:  

- Be led through a bespoke curriculum which covers a variety of disciplines -  Audio, Art, Games Design or Quality Assurance – and is all led by industry professionals.

- Learn about how to build your network; what good communication looks like in a Games Studio setting; how to put together a portfolio of work to help you progress in your career

- Get insight into a real work environment and attend masterclasses and sessions with professionals at all different levels of their careers

- Work on a live brief and get feedback from the team at Rocksteady Studios

- Get feedback, support and advice on your career progression

To celebrate the release of Rollerdrome our newest design workout brief is about all things skating!

We are happy to announce that we will have special guest judges from Roll7, creators of the newly released ‘Rollerdrome’ and previously ‘OliOli World’.

This brief will be ongoing until the 11th of September and in order for your imaginations to glide freely, we want you to take the keyword of ‘skating’ and create whatever comes to mind! Rollerskating, ice skating, skateboarding, figure skating, roller derby, hockey, and more!
