PRESCHOOL PRESS
First Day of Preschool: Monday, September 12th!

Preschool Calendar
It was GREAT to see many of you at our Back to School Night!  We are looking forward to partnering with you and your family to have a fabulous school year!

We still have a few families that have not fully completed their paperwork--it is required that we receive it by the first day of school tomorrow.

I have included some important information and reminders in this Back to School Newsletter that are hopefully helpful as we get back into a routine over the next couple of weeks.

If you haven't already, I strongly encourage you to review our Family Handbook as it contains a lot of important information.  I will try to highlight some Back to School "essentials" in this communication.  As always, please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Love,

Ms. Kramer
Student Phones

We strongly, strongly encourgage student phones to be left at home-we are also realistic in knowing several students rely on them to communicate with families before and after school.

Student phones are not to be used during the school day.  If students are found using their phones during the school day, we will follow the steps in our policy to encourage ending this.

Staff should not feel like they are having to micromanage this during the school day.

Students will have an opportunity to have their phones locked up at the start of each day, and then returned at the end of the day.

Families: Please partner with us in this by:

-NOT communicating with your student via their phone during the school day.
-Reinforcing with your student that IF they NEED to contact family, to do it through the school office during the school day.
-Communicating after school plans with your student(s) BEFORE they arrive to school.

You can imagine that we have had some situations that have caused much unnecessary confusion and complexity for both families and staff members by not following this procedure.
COVID Updates

Community of Saints will continue to follow CDC guidelines and recommendations regarding COVID.

Please note-if a positive case occurs in a classroom, the whole classroom will be treated as exposed and will follow temporaraty masking guidelines.
Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures

Our drop off and pick up procedures have been created with the top priorities being safety and efficiency.  These procedures apply to EVERYONE.  If some do not follow them, they do not work to their full effectiveness.  Thank you in advance for your collaboration and cooperation.  Teamwork makes the dream work :).

REMINDER: DURING MORNING CAR DROP OFF, THE FRONT TWO CARS IN EACH LANE CAN UNLOAD AT THE SAME TIME (Four vehicles at once)

Morning Drop Off: 8:10-8:30am

Car Riders: Enter school through Door 3

Walkers and Bus Riders: Enter school through Door 2

Door 1 is NOT an entrance before 8:30am
K-3 will go in to cafeteria for breakfast
4-8 will have outdoor recess until the 8:27am bell

End of Day:

Please communicate any change in transportation plans for your student(s) with the office by 2:30pm each day.

2:45-3:00pm: No Early Pick Up. Unless communication occurred/arrangement was made between the family and the office prior, no students will be called out of class during this time for early pick-up.  End of day clean up and preparation is very busy, and unexpected early pick-up is a disruption to the school's operation.
