Faith as small as a mustard seed
“…If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20) That’s it. That is all we must do, have faith as small as a mustard seed. During the past few months God kept putting this verse into my mind and heart. As the camp season was approaching, everything was in order. Although everything was planned out and ready, I was still a little nervous about camp. God kept telling me to put camp into His hands because He is always in control. I am so thankful that I put it in His hands instead of putting it into my mine. God shows us again and again just how powerful He is and how His ways are better than our ways.
Camp Updates
Last month I asked you all to pray for the two weeks of camp and let me start out by saying how much I appreciate you all for praying! Those weeks of camp were weeks of growth for the teens, leaders and an encouragement to the people in the villages.
Our first week of camp was in the village of Sebai and the next week of camp was in the village of Whitewater. The theme for camp this year was “Basic Training”. Sometimes as Christians we just need to go back to the basics of what it means to be a Christian, who God is and what He wants for us. We had messages and small groups in the mornings and afternoons. The campers wrote notes during the messages and then reviewed them in their small groups and opened it up for discussion.

Three Circles of Evangelism
We also introduced to them to the Three Circles of Evangelism.”  which is another way of sharing the gospel with others. We had stickers of the “Three Circles” so it would be easier to share it with one another. All the teens and leaders learned how to share the gospel with one another. Even the shyest teens were stepping outside of their comfort zone and practiced sharing the gospel in their small groups. This was a major part of camp this year and one that was a big reason for growth. It communicated the gospel in a simple way and showed some teens that maybe they hadn’t put their faith in God but now they wanted to. From the two weeks of camp, we had a total of 146 campers, 72 of which placed their trust in Christ and 36 that followed through in baptism.
What now?
We realize that this is not the end of these teens and leaders’ Christian walk. We want to further develop the leaders in every village to continue to be a mentor to the teens and to encourage them along their way. There were teens from at least 9 villages that came to camp. This is a wonderful opportunity to train the leaders so that they can train up the teens. When we work as a team, and have disciples that train disciples, we can further communicate the gospel to others.
Prayer for this month:
  1. Everyone who was involved with camp, that we can continue to develop, train and encourage them as teen and adult leaders in their communities.
  2. Pray for the teens and small group leaders that they will continue to share the gospel with others.
