Dawne Shand is a Democrat running a write-in campaign to run for the open Essex First District State Representative seat. With no incumbent, Democrats have a better chance of picking up this seat, and Dawne needs our help. She is hosting canvasses every Saturday and several phone bank events each week. Starting the week after Labor Day, we will be getting together to write postcards on Wednesdays at 5:30-6:30pm, still at NU Kitchen on Pleasant Street in Newburyport. This will be instead of our Friday get togethers.

Our last two Friday Action Hours will be this week and next, August 27th and September 2nd. We still have packets with FREE POSTAGE for these last two Friday get togethers. Please join us to close out the Summer at no charge!

We’re grateful to all of our postcard writers who have been cranking out more and more postcards to voters in Swing States. Please join us because as we get closer to the election, we need to keep voters in critical states inspired and energized to vote in the midterm elections!

It's Primary Time -- Don't Forget to Vote!

Many Massachusetts races are decided in the Primary Election. Don’t miss your chance to vote for important races like D.A., Sheriff, Auditor, Attorney General and Governor (as well as writing in Dawne Shand for State Rep). The Primary Election is Tuesday, September 6.

To Vote by Mail, you must request a mail-in ballot by August 29. You can make the request at your local city or town hall, or online here.

In-person Early Voting begins Saturday, August 27 and ends Friday, September 2. Check with your City or Town Clerk to find the exact hours.

As previously announced, we are now holding Action Evenings in place of our monthly speaker meetings. Time is limited and we need to focus all of our time and energy on taking actions to make a difference in the midterm elections!

We are working on partnerships and plans for the next event on the evening of Tuesday, September 20. Please save the date and stay tuned for more details!

We’re also participating in Indivisible Mass Coalition Weekends of Action between now and the elections. We will announce when plans are made for the next IMC action-packed weekend.

In addition to our weekly and remote postcard writing described above, we’re continuing to offer regular weekly phone banks and texting to voters. Details and registration information follows.

Call with the Moms Demand Action on Sundays at 3-4:30 pm to contact constituents in key districts and connect them directly to their legislators to encourage them to vote for gun safety measures. Please email robrien.ma@gmail.com to RSVP.

Call Wisconsin Democrats on Mondays at 4-6 pm to recruit volunteers. With a friendly audience, this phone bank is a great way to become comfortable with phone banking! Register here.

Call registered Democrats on Tuesdays at 4-6 pm to encourage them to support Senate candidates in important battleground states. This phone bank uses a convenient and easy auto-dialer for increased efficiency. Register here.

Call pro choice constituents in GA and NC on Wednesdays at 3-5 pm to register them to vote. Register here.

Texting voters is fun and fast, you don’t use your phone or your number to text, and the texts are pre-populated so you don’t need to type each text. Texting has been varied, interesting and productive.
