Ghana Card to be the sole document for accessing healthcare – Dr Okoe Boye

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has directed all Ghanaians to integrate their National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) coverage with the Ghana Card. Since the Ghana card will soon be the only document for accessing healthcare in the country, failure to comply with this directive could result in the denial of healthcare delivery.

Childhood cancers, sickle cell treatment now covered by NHIS, says Bawumia

Announcing this on Thursday (25 August 2022) in Accra, Bawumia said reimbursement of childhood cancers under NHIS became effective on 1 July 2022. Treatments for childhood cancers, as well as the cost of Hydroxyurea, an essential drug for the treatment of sickle cell anaemia, are now covered by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Akufo-Addo commissions integrated recycling and compost plant

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo inaugurated an integrated recycling and compost factory in Damongo,Savannah Region, on Wednesday (August 24, 2022), as part of activities for his two-day tour of the region. This is barely two years after President Akufo-Addo officially began construction of the Damongo Plant on October 31, 2020.The 400-ton facility is one of the first 16 recycling and compost plants.
