THE DRIVE HOME TO THE MUSTANG STAMPEDE

Tuesday, September 6 – Wednesday, September 14

AAT is proud to announce that not only is the annual The Drive Home event back in full force for 2022, but this time AAT is partnering up with Ford Motor Company for the cross-country trip from Tacoma, WA to The Stampede, Ford’s global debut of the all-new, seventh-generation Ford Mustang, at the Detroit Auto Show in Detroit, MI on September 14.

The Drive Home has historically been an annual multi-state road trip featuring vintage cars with points of interest along the way to the North American International Auto Show since 2015. Each tour is designed to highlight the importance of automotive heritage in the United States, and its relationship to the car culture of today.

This particular year is quite special in that The Drive Home to The Mustang Stampede will be an all-Mustang run, representing six generations of Mustangs in Ford Motor Company history – culminating in the unveiling of the seventh-generation Mustang in Detroit.

ACM VIRTUAL BOOK CLUB

Tuesday, September 20  | 6 PM - 7 PM

Join America’s Car Museum as we read Driven by Alex Davies. In this book, “Davies profiles the industry’s key players from the early enthusiasm of the DARPA days to their growing awareness that while this spin on artificial intelligence isn’t yet ready for rush-hour traffic, driverless cars are poised to remake how the world moves. Driven explores “the epic tale of competition and comradery, long odds and underdogs, all in service of a world-changing moonshot” (Andy Greenberg, author of Sandworm: A New Era of Cyberwar).

We are especially excited to announce that the author, Alex Davies, will be joining us for our discussion!

The discussion and Q & A will take place on Zoom, September 20th at 6pm.
