We’re excited to share there’s something new on the menu at Ecuador Freedom: we recently launched a brand-new Northwest Ecuador Explorer tour! This six-day paved self-guided tour is designed to showcase Ecuador off the beaten path allowing you to explore on your own or with friends, all while having the security and comfort of a pre-planned itinerary and great stays.
The Northwest Ecuador Explorer self-guided motorcycle adventure is all about ancient hand-laid cobblestone roads, working coffee plantations, swimming under waterfalls, and enjoying twisty pavement as you wind your way through an all-paved route on Ecuador’s legendary backroads. The northwest region of Ecuador is the part of the country where the roads are curvier, the beaches emptier, and the food is tastier. You’ll see snow-topped volcanoes, pristine blue lakes, sweeping emerald green forests, and get up-close looks at local artisans and leatherworkers in small towns and villages.
After full days in the saddle, you’ll have access to spring-fed pools, Instagram-worthy infinity Jacuzzis, and relaxing walks along empty beaches. Nights will be spent dining on authentic Ecuadorian cuisine, dancing to local music, and catching up on some much-needed sleep in historic haciendas, private beach cabins, and rainforest spas.

Speaking of exploring Ecuador: every so often, we get questions about navigation from our riders. Our solution? Garmin GPS instead of phone mounts. The reason why we prefer GPS rather than phones is that the units are sturdy and easy to use, and you don’t need to worry about damaging your phone’s camera as you ride. For all our self-guided tours, we offer pre-programmed GPS units that will guide you along flawlessly and provide an added layer of security as they do not rely on phone service.
