Greetings Forest Park Students and Parents,
Our first week back to school started and continues with joyful connections! Students are excited to reconnect with friends and teachers, families are excited to reconnect in our community, and the energy that makes our school feel special fills each day. Thank you for your smiles, greetings and welcomes.

Parents, our Welcome Back to School Packet is on its way. These packets go home with 1st through 5th grade students today, and with Kindergartners Thursday and Friday during Ramp-Up days. Please sign and return the media form, the walking field trip form, and the parent/student agreement.:

Community Cares Day!

A small but mighty group of parents and students showed their school spirit by helping beautify our school last Saturday. Hard work and fun went together on this day and our school benefitted!

From our Counselor:

Happy first week back at Forest Park! We will focus on various character traits throughout the year, and I will share some thoughts and tips through my school counselor's lens in my Counselor Corner newsletter. This week, we are focusing on Going with the Flow– Please read it here.

Those living South of NW Durrett St. please use front parking lot

Those living North use the back parking lot.

This small change can ease our traffic crunch!.

News from Friends of Forest Park Elementary

Congratulations! Grades 1-5 have made it to Back-to-School! We look forward to folding in the kinder students and their families next week.

Dine Out
One thing that Friends of Forest Park Elementary does is turn community building time into fundraising. One way we do that is through Dine Out Opportunities through partnerships with local businesses and our first event of the year is happening September 11 (Sunday) Noon-9:00 PM at Hammer & Stitch! Come hang out with other Forest Park families at H&S’s awesome Slabtown venue. Come for lunch, appetizers or dinner. Bring the whole family or just the Big People. And know that 15% of your total tab will come back to Friends of Forest Park Elementary.

Welcome Packets
We are able to do what we do entirely thanks to the volunteer efforts of parents and supporters. Please look for a Volunteer Interest Form in the Welcome Packet that will come home in your student’s backpack Wednesday. (Today)

The Sky is the Limit
If you have great ideas, special talents and the time to share them, we need you! Please consider joining the board of Friends of Forest Park Elementary this year—board membership is a great way to make new friends and get involved in the life of the school. We meet monthly and invite everyone to attend to learn about up-coming events, get principal updates and discuss plans and ideas for the life of the community. We Are All In For Our Kids!
