There is nothing quite as vibrant or breathtaking as our golden canola fields at this time of year. It makes for the perfect time to do a road trip to Griffith!

Francine joins the Griffith Tourism Team as our new full time Tourist Officer, with a  wealth of knowledge about the Griffith region. You will be greeted by Francine's friendly smile when you walk through the door, assisting you with all your enquiries and local recommendations on what to do while you visit.

STREET SCAPES 2022
From 2 September 2022 (6 weeks)
Street Scapes is an activation of Memorial Gardens and the associated carpark, and for six weeks locals and visitors can enjoy a series of activities, events and activations that invigorate and breathe life back into the City’s street scapes. Keep up to date with all events on offer HERE.

Join us for a 45 minute yoga class on the winery lawns followed by a glass of Yarran bubbles and breakie bar overlooking the vineyards and Cocoparra National Park from the cellar door terrace. Bookings essential via Eventbrite.

Entertainment for the whole family. Cowkids hour, rides, great food and drinks, as you watch the pretty fast horses in the barrel racing, take the chance to get down and dirty with the steer wrestlers and lay your eyes on the fastest woman’s equine sport in the world - in the breakaway roping. OPEN DAY Saturday 6 August
The Griffith Tourism Hub hosted their open day and re-opened the newly renovated interpretive display area which provides visitors with a snapshot of Griffith and entices everyone to further explore our city when they walk out the door. Locals and visitors alike were invited to pop in, meet the team and learn all about the services on offer.

HAY FAMIL
This month the Visitor Servicing Team visited our friends in Hay for a famil. A day trip from Griffith, or a great stop to add to your next western itinerary, Hay is a brief 1.5 hours down the road and has plenty to offer as well as a rich and fascinating history.

 

A TASTE OF ITALY GRIFFITH 2022 
What a week it has been! All accommodation was full for 7 nights with visitors attending from every state of Australia, even Tasmania! Only in its second year, from a 3-day festival in 2019 to now being a 7-day program full of Italian themed events and experiences. All events were sold out! The whole community came on board to showcase Griffith's unique Italian essence. See you all again next year from 21–27 August 2023.

BUSH SUMMIT
Griffith City Council hosted the 4th annual Daily Telegraph Bush Summit on Friday 26 August at Griffith Regional Theatre, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and fellow Ministers in attendance. The Bush Summit allows community leaders, policy makers and politicians to connect and discuss the opportunities and significant challenges people face in the bush that can be presented to state and federal governments for implementation.
