Parent Meeting Recap

Parents, we are so glad to have had the chance to meet with many of you this past Friday. It does get hectic over the course of the year, so at any time, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions, or wish to volunteer or help out with our many productions!

One-Act Auditions Start Tomorrow!

Parents, auditions for both VTA/VHSL one-act plays start tomorrow. Both one-act plays are awesome dynamically different, and one of them is entirely student directed and student written!

TheatreCHS has an award winning history with both of these exciting events, and we hope to continue to create excellence this year!

Wednesday of this week will be callback day, which means that if your child is auditioning Mon or Tues, they should keep that Wednesday open as well (usually we need to read actors for specific roles).

The timeline for rehearsals is limited, and this also means that we need to make sure that everyone involved in fully committed to the process.

There will be an in house evening of One-Act performances on Oct 25 just before our VTA (Virginia Theatre Association) trip.

VHSL Contest is scheduled for the week of November 1-5

Without William Shakespeare, we wouldn’t have literary masterpieces like Romeo and Juliet. But without Henry Condell and John Heminges, we would have lost half of Shakespeare’s plays forever! After the death of their friend and mentor, the two actors are determined to compile the First Folio and preserve the words that shaped their lives. They’ll just have to borrow, beg, and band together to get it done. Amidst the noise and color of Elizabethan London, The Book of Will finds an unforgettable true story of love, loss, and laughter, and sheds new light on a man you may think you know.

Welcome to Tech Theatre

Students will spend some time acclimating themselves to the facilities and learn/understand regular upkeep and safety practices.

Students should have read both plays that were shared with them on CANVAS Please visit CANVAS regularly for class assignments as needed!

All Tech Students are highly encouraged to crew for shows throughout the year and must crew at least one production.
