Dear members,

On 31  May 2022 the Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) published its Review on the UK’s support to the World Bank’s International Development Association. I attach a copy of the Review (click here) and a link to the UK Government’s response to their recommendations: FCDO response to ICAI review on the UK’s support to the World Bank’s International Development Association - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

ICAI is the UK’s official watchdog over UK ODA spending.  It is an arms length FCDO (Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office) public body, but reports to the Commons International Development Committee. Although the review looks at the UK relationship with IDA the conclusions and recommendations may well be of interest to Parliamentarians from other donor, and IDA- eligible, countries.

Therefore, the Parliamentary Network want to make the review available to its members, and to invite the lead commissioner for this review (ICAI’s Chief Commissioner, Dr Tamsyn Barton) to present her findings and recommendation to Parliamentarians attending the programme of events at this year’s World Bank Annual meeting. The conference will be added to the schedule, and you will be welcome to attend it.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any question.

Best wishes,

The Rt Hon Liam Byrne MP, UK
Chair of the Parliamentary Network
