Sign-Ups (new and returning members)
All members, both new and returning, must do three things:

2022-2023 email list sign-up: If you don't sign up for the 2022-2023 list, you will be unsubscribed starting Monday, 9/12. To sign up, follow the button below:
2022-2023 Email List Sign-Up
IMLeagues sign-up: This platform collects mandatory paperwork that must be redone annually. You can complete all this and more in only 6 easy steps!
  1. Log in at this link using your ELMS credentials.
  2. Navigate to the “clubs” tab.
  3. Scroll down to find Club Running and click on the “join” link.
  4. After clicking the "join" button, it should take you to the concussion quiz.
  5. In addition to the concussion quiz, there will be a “Contact and Consent” form you MUST FILL OUT. You should be prompted to take it right after the concussion quiz, but, if not, click on the circle with your initials on it. You should be redirected to a page that prompts you about unsubmitted forms. Click on that to reach the form.
  6. Follow the steps to complete the online waiver and sign electronically. (If you are under 18 you must bring a physical paper form to practice).
2022-2023 GroupMe: The club GroupMe is a completely optional chat group for planning runs outside of practice and impromptu social event announcements. The 2021-2022 GroupMe is being deleted on Monday, 9/12/22. If you would like to join the GroupMe for this year, click the button below:
2022-2023 GroupMe
New Member Sign-Ups

In addition to the steps above, new members should also join the club on TerpLink. This is even simpler than the IMLeagues sign-up, with only THREE easy steps! What a steal! To sign up on TerpLink, please:
  1. Go to this link and click “Sign In" at the upper right corner of the page, and log in with your UMD login.
  2. Search "Maryland Club Running" in the search bar in the middle of the screen and then click “Maryland Club Running”on the dropdown menu.
  3. Click the blue “Join” and submit a request to join the team.

Pancake Breakfast (Saturday, 9/10)

After the time trial, join us for a ***free*** pancake breakfast at 8411 Potomac Ave at 11:30 AM! We will be driving here directly after the time trial. If you only want to go to the time trail, we can drop you off on campus before going to breakfast.

If you are not doing the time trial, you are still welcome to go to the pancake breakfast! You can walk straight there, or you can take the 134 bus to the University Club stop, which is 0.25 miles away from the destination.
Flag Football Sign-Ups

If you're not a member of the varsity football team, you too can join the Club Running flag football team! This fall's games are in the Coed B league Sundays at 6 PM! To sign up, log into IM Leagues, navigate to the "intramural sports" tab, select the "Coed B" league under 7v7 flag football, and click the "join" button for the "Running" team. Then, message social chair Savannah Sitler on GroupMe or email the club to be manually admitted to the team. The first game is September 11th. You can sign up and join a game any time during the regular season, which runs through September 25th.

If you are interested in a men's or women's flag football IM team, fill out the survey here, and we'll add a team if there's enough interest!
Fundraising Requirement

This year, we are bringing back the fundraising requirement from the pre-covid era. Back in the olden days, all competing members had to participate in two fundraisers (typically concessions or traffic directing for sports games). If you do not complete your fundraising requirement for the year, you must pay full price for all meets going forwards.
Fall Training Plans
This year, apparel coordinator Eamon Plante is working hard to adapt our cross country training plan to meet three different goals: injury prevention, reduced fatigue, and accessibility. Based on runner feedback, we are:
  • Providing three scaled plans to encourage individualized training volume
  • Incorporating speedwork earlier in the season
  • Ensuring the hardest workouts are spaced away from meets
  • Extending the training plan to Thanksgiving break to accommodate those racing over the long weekend (e.g. Turkey Trots)

"I'm not a distance runner," you say? You're in luck, because sprint chair Clay Buckman has provided yet another masterfully crafted training plan for this fall! View the sprint plan below:

Meet Schedule
The final meet schedule is here!
Strava
The only social media I regularly use, Strava is a platform for sharing your runs, bikes, rollerskis, and more! Join the Strava clubs "University of Maryland Club Running" (including alumni) and "UMD Club Running Active Members" to keep up with your teammates (pun intended).
