Introducing the Visual Pricing Guide!
This breakthrough enhancement is a visualization of Get Market Data and will be a game changer for you. If the #1 rule of bidding at auction is "Bid what the lot is worth and what you are willing to pay", then this is the next generation tool for determining value.
Our Visual Pricing Guide is not as detailed as Provenance or Census, but for $50 a year takes Get Market Data to the next level. It uses a percentile approach to take 30 years of auction data and present in a way to immediately see the market trends for a stamp or cover.
Each of 5 percentiles is presented with a stamp or cover from the group (the first one) and then a graphical representation of the prices realized for the examples in that percentile. Using the mint #1 to illustrate, you are looking at the top 10% of mint #1's. You can see how it graphs the prices realized for the top 10 stamps. Often this graph looks like a hocky stick, but in this case less so. You can see how after a short number of examples, the graph starts to level out. In most cases you will find the 95 graded and above to be in this range. So if you are looking at a stamp that is better than the one in the next percentile, you get an instant understanding of the market for this stamp at this level.
The next percentile is the 10-20% percential with an image of the first stamp or cover in that percentile. From the auction description and the image itself you can see with your own eyes the quality of stamp that is selling in this percentile and the graph gives you the price range of this stamp and the next 10% of the range. Generally the curve is starting to level off here and you can quickly determine a range to bid confidently. In the video I will show the the other 3 graphs and if I have time show you a couple more examples.
This feature is part of BASIC Extended Features at its full price of $49.95 per year renewing. It is too server intensive to include it with the $19.95 discounted version.
