Chiwaukee Prairie Preservation Fund Extra Workdays

Greetings, Friends of the Prairie,

Extra Workdays To Be Held On Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4, 2022

For just over the past month, our regular and extra work days have made good progress pulling/bagging various flowering plants including Mullein, Queen Anne's Lace, and White Sweet Clover. This Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4, we will continue the search. Late blooming Queen Anne's Lace will be our focus. This will be our last best chance to do a final sweep for this species while it is in bloom.

We will begin at 9:00 AM on both days.

On Saturday, the prediction at this time is for mostly cloudy skies with winds from the north at 10-20 mph, a high temperature of 80°F, and chances of scattered afternoon showers. We will go in light rain but not if there is lightning. Sunday is expected to be partly cloudy, 73 °F, and winds from the northeast winds at 10-15 mph.

Wear old clothes, long pants and sturdy shoes or boots and bring YOUR GLOVES. Consider tick protection. We supply tools, water, instructions, and answers to all your questions about the Prairie. If you have a "dandelion digger" (hand weed fork) you prefer, please bring.
The workdays are from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Come for part or all of it.

PLEASE NOTE:
We will meet by the orange gate at 122nd Street
and 2nd Avenue by 9:00 AM.
