One of the joys of our student radio station 98.5 HD4 The MEL is discovering new music that explore the gravity and gladness of God. John Mark McMillan’s new song Has It Been You really struck my heart this summer. The lyrics begin with the questions that many of you have:
Do you weave yourself
Into the fabric of who I am?
Is resurrection baked
Into the fabric of the plan
Like seasons, tides, and even
The revolutions of the land?
But there is hope in the trustworthiness of the Lord that HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN AT WORK (McMillan writes):
All this time
Has it been you?
All this time, yeah
All this time
Has it been you
All this time, yeah
Yep. It has been Him. ALL THIS TIME! The past preparing us for the resilience needed for today.. and then MacMillan reminds us this hope we have gives us direction in our MISSION as believers and storytellers.
I believe (that) The miraculous mundane Is still begging to be seen..
This is us. This is what we do as communication/PR/media faculty and students. We proclaim the miraculous mundane that is still begging to be seen. As we pursue Christ and our craft, let us pray that the LORD shows us the miraculous mundane. Whether explicitly or implicitly, it is in Christ we proclaim (Col 1:28). God is always at work in our struggle between good-hearted intentions and the numbing obstacles we each face in our daily lives.
He may work fast or he may work slow, but the miraculous mundane is BEGGING to be seen. See it and BELIEVE! Trust everything is happening right on schedule - even amidst the chaos and binary oriented slanging matches in our crazy COVID culture. We always have a reason for the hope that is in us. Christ is the hope that never disappoints. Because at the right time while we were still sinners, he died for us. Pursue Craft. In Christ, we proclaim.
