For a few years, it was all pretty simple: Netflix ran the show, Hulu had sneaky value, and Prime Video had Fleabag. But as the competitive pool gets crowded and Netflix’s massive head start gets erased, the fight for streaming preeminence grows more and more heated.

Which is why we’re introducing this section to not only keep tabs on the ever-changing Streaming Wars, but also to explain how those developments translate to you, the person who’s doing the streaming.

Every week, we’ll use a proprietary formula to determine how the biggest players in the Streaming Wars stack up against each other—and more importantly, which ones are worth your hard-earned cash.

To come up with a list of the 100 best episodes, the entire Ringer staff was asked to submit their favorite episodes of the century. The list was then assembled with those submissions in mind, and with one stipulation—that only one episode per show could make the cut.
