North Ryde Raises $11k for Mental Health Research

The Rotary Club of North Ryde recently hosted a 'Thank You Breakfast' for the sponsors supporting the North Ryde Fun Run virtual event this year. The club raised $11k which they donated to Australian Rotary Health and Macquarie University Centre for Emotional Health.

ARH Chairman speaks of the 'Danny Frawley Centre' PhD Scholarship

Last month, ARH Chairman Kevin Shadbolt (left) was one of the guest speakers at a mental health night hosted by West Ulverstone Community Sports Club.

Kevin spoke about the ARH 'Danny Frawley Centre' PhD Scholarship and how it could benefit footballers. This project will focus on Athlete Mental Health & Wellbeing. The PhD scholarship is currently advertised on our website.

ARH Chairman speaks about ARH in Interview

ARH Chairman Kevin Shadbolt joins David Hale from the Rotary Club of Brisbane for a chat about the work of Australian Rotary Health. He spoke of our growing number of Lift the Lid Walks.

"We would love more clubs to do more (Lift the Lid) Walks, Yes! There is always room for more clubs to be involved. And we would love to see that happen!" Kevin said.

For Mental Health Month, Rotary District 9820 is hosting a presentation via Zoom with Rotary Scholar and physiotherapist, Sarah Large. Sarah was a recipient of an Indigenous Health Scholarship in 2015-17 and she currently works in neuroscience at the University of Melbourne. The presentation is scheduled for the 8th October, 2-3pm.
